Having been a life long resident of the Middleton area  I've seen many changes  I have been a frequent visitor to the loft cafe  and this place is a change I'm glad to see its an obviously well run family owned cafe the staff are friendly courteous and nothing is to much trouble food is well prepared and served  straight to the table  nothing is to much trouble as I struggle on my feet staff have taken the time to ensure that I have everything I need and don't have to stand unnecessarily  the surrounding are pleasant and functional  food is attractively presented and questions about various food allergies I have have been knowledgeably dealt with in a professional manner  to ensure everything is to my full satisfaction.
I am  first to admit that I can be fussy  where I'm prepared to eat and I can equally say I would have no hesitation in recommending the Loft Cafe  to anyone as I'm certain they will receive the same care and attention and quality of food  I have grown to expect from this wonderful cafe  a shining example of a business where the customer comes first and nothing is to much trouble for the staff .Keep up the good work!

I went to the Loft today to get some breakfast. The Loft is in the Middleton Arndale on the 1st floor, overlooking the rest of the Arndale. It would be a fantastic view to people watch in any other arndale, but with the Middleton Arndale being depressing, with little people and a lower amount of shops every day - not so.

I ordered their Ham and Cheese Omelette meal, with Baked beans instead of Salad. My server checked with her mother to see if the chips were Gluten Free, I was happy to see her check, I would of prefered if she would of brought the bag out to show me instead of reciting from memory, but I decided to chance it.

This is a family business, where it seems a mothers and daughter work together.

My omelette was quite poor really and I didn't enjoy it and in some point tasted raw and the chips were not fantastic either. The only thing I liked about my meal and I can't really complain about is the baked beans, but honestly if you are paying that much money, you want all your meal to be nice not just the one thing even my pet goldfish can make.

I also ordered a Caramel Latte, I feel this was the best part of my meal.

It is very pricey here and definitley not worth their prices for the quality of food. From the cost of my meal, I could of bought all the stuff and got more of it and cooked it for less than what it cost me here.

After I got back home, I started to have syntomns , which I get from eating Gluten, I don't want to go into too much detail on here but this gives me signs that cross contamination may of occured or who I think was the manager, does not have a good memory and actually saw Wheat Flour on the chips packet and forgot.

If they is cross-contamination and I get syntoms after eating food, I can't give anything other than 1 star, even if the food is better than what Gordan Ramsay would cook and honestly the food wasn't great either, so I am giving the Loft 1 star.
